Copyright. Did you know that you own the legal copyright to your work simply because you created it? Copyright laws exist to protect creators of unique works, and U.S. law protects new works even before publication. However, as a matter of sound practice, any publisher should register copyright in your book in your name at the time of publication (as Vantage does). This registration further protects your rights.
