Vantage Press

Promotion and Distribution

With printing, your book is completed. The first copy is delivered to you. Your free copies follow directly, while the balance of the run is stored at Ingram Publisher Services to be made available for orders from wholesalers, booksellers, libraries, and individuals.

Even before publication, we will have coordinated special publicity and promotion opportunities with you. Now, with the physical book in hand, we begin to actively promote your book.

We promote your book on many fronts:

  • We write a press release to present your book in the best light.
  • We send review copies to local, national, and internet media accompanied by the press release.
  • We send publication announcements and ordering instructions to local libraries and organizations.
  • We list your book listing in Books in Print, the industry's essential resource.
  • We provide details, cover images, and 'look inside the book' images to online trading partners such as Amazon.com, BarnesandNoble.com, and BooksaMillion.com.
  • We encourage and respond to all media and institutional inquiries.
  • We attempt to arrange signings, readings, and other events.

Please note that each of our press communications offers bookstores co-operative advertising and event support of up to $200 per event or placement – an expense that Vantage pays in each case.

The Vantage Publicity Department also prepares a special "circular" for your book which we mail to your personal list of friends and family, church members, business associates – up to five hundred individuals and businesses identified by you. We have found that these circulars effectively stimulate sales.

Orders for your book can be placed directly with Vantage or via Ingram's Publisher Services. IPS fulfills all orders and accepts payment on account or via credit card. Piggybacking on Ingram"s wholesale operation, IPS ships to most bookstores every day and ships essentially all orders within 48 hours. All Vantage Press books are made available to the book trade on industry standard consignment terms.

Under the Vantage program, there is never a supplemental charge to our authors for reprints, no matter how many copies are sold.
